Biography: Albert Pujols is a Dominican-American baseball player, nicknamed 'The Machine,' that plays for the St. Louis Cardinals. As a first baseman and designated hitter, Pujols is regarded by many as an all-time great. He is currently the oldest active player in Major League Baseball.

While Pujols impressed in his only college season, he spent a year in the minor leagues after signing with the Cardinals in 2000. This year he was voted the league's most valuable player and selected for the All-Star team.

When Pujols was finally brought into the major league roster, he quickly impressed. He was selected for the All-Star Game, making him the only Cardinals rookie since Luis Arroyo to achieve this feat.

Pujols played for the Cardinals for nine seasons, then spent half a season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has since returned to the Cardinals for the 2022 season, which he has said will be his last.
